3 LOCAL DRINKS TO TRY

People in Luxembourg like a tipple – or two. A 2017 survey showed that 2.5% of the consumption expenses of people in Luxembourg was spent on alcoholic drinks. Here are some of the beverages worth sampling…

Château Les Crostes

The wine of Château Les Crostes (available in red, white and rosé) is produced in Provence by the son of the Grand Duke, Prince Felix, and his wife, Princess Claire. It is available for purchase from Oberweiss on Grand Rue.

Battin

With Belgium just next door, Luxembourgish beer has a lot of competition. However, Battin holds its own. With many of my visitors, I make them sample three or four of the local beers, giving them a score. Battin is always a favourite.

Hunneg Drëpp

This colourless liquor made from honey sounds sweet, but at over 20% vol. it packs quite a punch!
