There is an organized run almost every month in Luxembourg. Highlights are:
Route du Vin
The Route du Vin in Remich offers the opportunity to run a half or full marathon on a blissfully flat path along the River Moselle. The absence of a gradient is not the only perk – when you cross the finish line, you are presented with a complimentary bottle of crémant.
ING Night marathon
A tough one as it traverses all the ups and downs of Luxembourg City. But the atmosphere all throughout the city makes it worthwhile. The festivities continue into the night time with a light festival in the Pétrusse valley.
DKV-Urban Trail
This race, based in and around the city centre offers a menu of 13km, 18km, 27km and 34km options. The trail takes you from the Saint-Esprit plateau, along the Alzette, past the Grand Ducal Palace to the Neumünster Abbey, Place d’Armes, the Casemates du Bock, the Three Acorns and the Philharmonie … What’s extra special about this race is that it also travels through a cave-like tunnel, around 1km in length, which is otherwise closed to the public.
